Maria Sharapova withdrawal


Russian second seed Maria Sharapova announced a global withdrawal from the Toronto International Tennis Tournament after being infected with stress in the muscles of her right leg.
Seeks Serena Williams seeded first globally to progress to the fourth title in the session after 2001 and in 2011 and 2013. Sharapova and the withdrawal of Romanian Simona Halep became classified in the second session.
